You should know that Microsoft Excel lacks any true relational functionality , when you use MS Access for databases and love the relational aspect of the database ,  The idea that you can link data by common elements ( such as employee ID , Stock Number etc ) greatly assists in the reduction of data , and the ability to analyze data . 

You should know that Excel 2010 has introduced larger spreadsheets and binary formats ,  using large amounts of data on the PC will slow down and freeze the PC , if you can send Excel via email , you can accidentally send your file to someone who should not have it or not authorized to have it , So ,You can password to protect your Excel file .

You should know that Excel has no means of checking for the human error during the data entry which means that the wrong information can skew all the results , Excel worksheet as a database has a limited number of rows or records that you can store but when you reach the 65k lines limit , you can convert it easily to Access and the rest of the application can be used .

It is very important to know that the accuracy is difficult , and the increased data errors is inevitable with larger quantities of information  , Excel’s lack of validation and potential copy-paste errors make it extra easy to slip in the mistakes , Precious time is wasted validating and tracking the data , It can be extremely challenging to spot and correct the errors especially with larger volumes of data .
